S9 AutoSet for Her with H5i Features

• The S9 Series has been taken to a new level with the new AutoSet technology. AutoSet will pick up on flow limitation such as snoring and apneas on a breath-by-breath basis. When signs of flow limitation show, the AutoSet technology will ever so gently increase pressure. When the event passes, pressures will once again gently drop. AutoSet technology now also works hand in hand with Easy-breathe technology to make breathing through an APAP feel even more natural. When flow limitation occurs and the AutoSet algorithm increases the pressure, easy-Breathe technology will help smooth the pressure during the increase. Working together, the two technologies allow patients to receive the lowest pressure possible, while keeping the airway open.

• The S9 series has a new feature for its machines called Climate Control. This feature allows the machine to change temperatures according to the environment of your bedroom. It adjusts the heat and humidification by the mask, allowing you to receive the exact heat and humidification that you selected on your machine. Its ClimateLine Heated Tubing has a thermostat at its end, and it will measure the temperature at the mask. If the temperature has dropped between the humidifier and the mask, the tubing will heat the air to the temperature that you selected. By doing this, ResMed has solved any rainout problems caused by changing temperatures in your tubing. Also, your H5i humidifier will measure the temperature and humidity in the bedroom and adjust accordingly. The S9 Series is definitely a great advancement for CPAP users worldwide.

• Every S9 machine comes with ResMed's new and improved SlimLine Tubing. This tubing is 40% lighter, 20% thinner, and takes up 35% less space then other tubing systems. Tube drag becomes just about non-existant.

• EPR decreases the pressure at the beginning of each breath and keeps the pressure low throughout the exhalation. The pressure is reduced by an exact pressure drop of one, two or three centimeters of water pressure. EPR gradually changes therapy pressures so there is little ventilatory effect. EPR also has an Event Detection Circuit. When a sleep disordered breathing event lasts longer than 10 seconds, EPR stops until the event concludes and normal breathing with EPR resumes.
  EPR with Easy-Breathe technology also allows users to customize the RAMP feature. Set the S9 Elite to EPR RAMP ONLY mode to enhance comfort and help improve compliance. Users are more aware of pressure changes as they fall asleep, using pressure relief during the ramp period naturalizes this process.

• ResMed has incorporated another excellent feature.The Mask-Fit system will allow patients to choose what kind of mask they would like to use. The machine will then set therapy to suit that particular mask style.
