BiPAP AVAPS Features:

  • System One Humidity Control (Optional) - The PR CPAP/BiPAP Humidifier has special sensors that monitor the changes in temperature in the tube, and adjust it accordingly. This ensures that you receive warm air no matter what. This way, all problems of rain-out are eliminated. With the Dry Box technology, chances of water damage are once again greatly reduced. The air outlet port was moved to the top of the humidifier, and the water chamber was made with a one-way valve between the machine and the humidifier. Even with a chamber filled to the "FUll" indicator line, the PR System One Humidifier can be tilted, shaken, and even turned upside down without leaking back into the device.
  • Digital Auto-Trak Sensitivity is the brains behind Respironics' Flex Technology and AVAPS freature. It's an algorithm that monitors the patients breayhing patterns and responds to abnormal pressure changes. The Auto-Trak system measures variable triggers and cycle thresholds, then adjusts pressure automatically to provide effective sleep therapy. The Digital Auto-Trak components are always active and the system reacts to the first component that detects a change in sleep, providing maximum sensitivity.
  • The AVAPS Algorithm, which stands for Average Volume Assured Pressure Support, is the only way of ensuring that NIV patients receive the targeted tidal volume that was preset for them. AVAPS will track the patients breathing on a breath by breath basis. It will then compare the patient's tidal volume to the target tidal volume. If necessary, it will automatically adjust pressure support ot meet the preset tidal volume. It can funcion in one of the following 4 modes. S, ST, PC, and T modes.
  • Working hand in hand with the AVAPS algorithm is the Bi-Flex Technology which allows the machine to track each breath and provide pressure relief during the three most critical points in the breathing cylcle; During transition from exhalation to inhalation, from inhalation to exhalation, and during the actual exhalation. Pressure is reduced by .5 increments at a time. The Bi-Flex setting can be adusted up to 1.5 H20 for maximum comfort.
  • Encore Data Reporting makes for Easy access to patient data. It monitors patient compliance, evaluates efficiency, and identifys trends. It is a software program that analyzes data recorded by Respironics CPAP and BIPAP Machines. With the use of the Encore Software, you can monitor therapy effectiveness through a series of reports. Users can view a weekly breakdown on a breath by breath basis from the Patient Flow and event Report. Different colors are used to identify particular conditions and events so caregivers can easily pick up on any such problems.
